DOWNTOWN: A Guide to Downtown Lake Jackson Nightlife – Social Distance Style

In the past few years, Lake Jackson’s nightlife scene has grown exponentially. Without losing its beloved small-town feel, downtown Lake Jackson has become a hub for fun, great food, and entertainment. Once full of stores and restaurants that closed earlier in the evening, downtown LJ has made room for some that stay open a little later and cater to the night owls. Look to this blog for a guide to LJ’s thriving downtown area, and how to enjoy it safely this summer no matter how you’re social distancing.

This Way

Some of you may know about Lake Jackson’s iconic downtown street names. LJ is known for its confusing street names like This Way, That Way, Center Way, Circle Way, and the list goes on. Well, on This Way, you’re sure to find something that fits your vibe and your taste in cuisine. Check out the spots below!

Not only does Poly Pop have a great aesthetic, it also has delicious, fun, and colorful cocktails and food. Wayside Pub is unique in its old-school pub style. The bar and restaurant is made of dark stained wood that makes you feel like you’re truly inside a British pub. Additionally, it serves classic pub food that can be difficult to track down, like Scotch eggs and fish n’ chips. Wayside Pub may have the most popular patio downtown, so it’s a great place to spread out and safely chill with your friends.

Parking Place

Parking Place is the other street where you can find some LJ nightlife heavy hitters. A little more spread out than the four on This Way, these spots are not to be overlooked!

Open for dine-in, patio seating, and to-go

Thursday – Friday:  11:00 AM – Midnight

Saturday: 11:00 AM – 1:00 AM

Located on the corner of Circle Way and Parking Place comes a new late night spot from the same folks who brought you The Fill Station! Bodega is a hip, urban-style deli and convenience store that also offers a massive selection of craft beer and wine. The majority of the seating is outdoors, making it one of the social distancing stars of downtown. But the real stars of the show at Bodega are the mouth-watering sandwiches, so this is the ideal spot to grab a midnight snack on the weekends.

Brody’s Blacksmith Shop

Open for indoor bar seating and patio seating

Monday – Tuesday: 3:00 PM – Midnight

Wednesday – Friday: 3:00 PM – Midnight

Saturday: 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM

Another fun spot on Parking Place is called Brody’s. Brody’s definitely has the coolest patio in LJ, due to the giant Oak tree wrapped in lights that happens to be right next to this hidden gem. Brody’s has a simple yet delicious drink menu, but it also benefits from being right across the street from Domino’s Pizza. This is the spot to grab your friends and a pizza and go to town on some board games out on the patio. In addition, Brody’s has really gone all out on its cleaning and sterilization routine, installing Blu QR lights to provide UV disinfection and protection against bacteria, mold, and viruses.

So no matter what you’re in the mood for this weekend, Lake Jackson’s got you covered. For a comprehensive list of restaurants in LJ, click here. There’s a place for everyone!
